hey i collect sports card too. try beckett, or tuff stuff.
-look at the back of your car.
-at the bottom look for the year and the general manufacturer (topps, bowman, upper deck)
- narrow it down by looking at the card type (like bowman gold edition) this should be somewhere around the front.
-look at the top corner on the back and there will be a number, this will lead you to your exact player

Beckett is a good magazine is basically a cartel run by card stores..so their prices are always on the high side. A rule of thumb if you are selling is one half-Beckett.
The cards are listed by year and then by set in the magazine. They will only list prices for the star cards individually, and for ‘commons’ they will just give a price. At the top of each listing they will also list the price for complete sets.
Also, each year Beckett publishes a larger book that will list every card. For anything more than a few years old, the prices will be stable enough to be quite accurate.

I only buy Beckett because I think Tuff Stuff over values cards. Just check the brand of card & the year & look down cards listed in magazine & look for your particular card # but it will only list the stars, most rookies & (SP) short printed cards. Good luck
